The highlight of the hiker’s paradise
The Aeugi-Lowa trail is the undisputed highlight of Adelboden’s hikers’ paradise and gives walkers an insight into a fascinating high-alpine region.
The mountain path from the Hahnenmoos pass to the Engstligen plateau takes you over the 2613 m high Ammertenspitz peak. To get up to the top, you will need to climb on iron steps set into the rock, for which you will be rewarded with breathtaking views out over the permanent ice of the glacier and far across into Central Switzerland.
Beyond the valley, a panoramic view of rolling mountains opens out, with Adelboden nestling among them. What was once the preserve of experienced mountaineers is now accessible to experienced amateur climbers with a good head for heights.
The descent via the Engstligen plateau takes you past the thundering, 600 m high Engstligen Falls.
The Aeugi-Lowa via ferrata can be used from June to October. Dogs are not allowed on the path.
