Easy walk in the area of VogellisiBerg

On a leisurely walk in the woods on VogellisiBerg you can experience nature in all its facets. The many wooden benches along the way invite you to rest for a while, lean back and let the silence take effect. Perfect for escaping from everyday life! Summit hike to the World Cup mountain

From Adelboden you reach Bergläger via Gilbach. Past the Höchst ski slope, the trail winds through the mountain forest to the top of Chuenisbärgli. With a bit of luck, you will already find the first cyclamens. On the way, you should also stop and enjoy the panorama towards the valley of Bütschi. At the top, the view towards Engstligenalp and down to the village of Adelboden, which lies embedded in the valley basin, is impressive. The summit rest can be made at the wooden start gate of the legendary world cup giant slalom. Please note that the chair lift is closed and the same route back to Adelboden must be taken by feet.

Pause and meditate with a view of Adelboden

We all need a break now and then. Especially at the present time, it is good to go out into nature and clear your head. Therefore, we recommend: Just turn off your cell phone and tie your shoes. The easy hiking trail Hörnliweg above the village centre is the best place for a short timeout. The easy hiking trail on Adelboden’s sunny side of the valley winds through the forest along the mountain flank of Tschentenalp. On the way, many wooden benches invite you to enjoy the impressive all-round mountain panorama. A secret tip: Sit alone on the Daubenfels (easily accessible via Hörnliweg) early in the morning, watch the day awakening in the village, close your eyes, listen to the sounds of the mountains and enjoy the first sunrays kissing your face. This is pure relaxation.

Ride to happiness on two wheels

If you prefer to go outside by bike rather than by feet, you will be delighted: Some routes in Adelboden are already free of snow and invite you to crisp climbs and rapid descents. Our favourite biking routes in spring:

Adelboden-Bonderlen-Bunderalp-Hirzboden-Adelboden

From Adelboden Dorf the route leads out of the valley on the main road to the Oey roundabout. Turn right there and after the Schützenbrücke bridge turn left towards Bonderlen. Soon there will be signposted cycle and hiking trails. With a view to the Lohnermassiv massif, bikers first cross a few residential areas and hamlets before gradually becoming steeper and more deserted.  At the height of Ahorni follow the signposting to Bunderalp. The asphalted road then winds up a pleasant gradient through woods and past a few “Stafeln”, old Adelboden pasture huts. Once you arrive at Bunderalp, tired legs may be rested on the only wooden bench – but be careful: The view of the village of Adelboden and the surrounding Niesen chain would be too beautiful to take a short nap. In spring, nature lovers discover the first garden anemones here and with a bit of luck, wild animals can also be seen.

The way back is via the natural street towards Hirzboden. The descent to Margelibrücke with the Bunderseeli, the many farms and hamlets offers a lot of variety and a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains. Once you reach Margelibrücke, turn left along the main road back to the starting point.

Adelboden-Unter dem Birg-Adelboden

This excursion by bike is a unique experience: With a view of the Wildstrubel and Engstligen Falls, the route leads along the Engstlige stream via Boden towards Unter dem Birg. Bicycles can be parked at the cable car station of Engstligenalp, as nature lovers should definitely tackle the last stretch to the basin of the waterfall by feet.

The easy circular trail leads over moss, roots, sticks and stones through the spring-like forest, past a barbecue area which invites you to take a short break and have a picnic. The path then winds its way further and further through the denser forest. The roar of the waterfalls can be heard from far away. Soon the forest thins out and hikers can enjoy the impressive natural spectacle of the second highest waterfalls in Switzerland. Those who like to linger, will find wooden benches with the best view. The circular hiking trail continues from here to the starting point and takes about 45 minutes in total.
