With these tips and tricks, nothing stands in the way of a relaxed sledging day.
Safety Rules Sledging
1. Sledge
Decide beforehand on the appropriate device. Whether the classic wooden sledge, the racing sledge for fast descents or the bob for flatter, softer tracks – fun in the snow is never short of fun anywhere. Do you know the “Skigibel”? This traditional Adelboden vehicle, consisting of a ski and wooden seat, has been thrilling the masses for decades and can be tested at VogellisiBerg at the Oester Sport rental centre.
2. Helmet
Clever minds protect themselves. The speed can also be high on leisurely descents. Be a role model and protect yourself not only when skiing with a helmet.
3. Goggles
A good pair of winter sports glasses provides a clear view. Depending on weather and light conditions, they provide contrast and protect your eyes from UV rays and wind.
4. Gloves
Put your hands in warm gloves. Gloves that are thick and waterproof are best. Nobody wants cold fingers when sledging!
5. Clothes and shoes
In jeans and with trainers on the sledge? Not a good idea! A warm ski suit with a snow guard keeps you dry and warm. Good footwear for sure-footedness and for being able to brake well at any time.
6. Do not overestimate yourself
Adapt your speed to your ability, but it is better to go slowly and always in such a way that you can brake within sight.
7. Have fun
Enjoy the winter landscape on a sledge and good company with friends. Tobogganing should be fun – if you follow the above tips, nothing stands in the way of your plans!
